Odette Yustman marries Dave Annable

Dave Annable and Odette Yustman were married this weekend in Ojai, California in front of 215 of their friends and family.

Dave’s Brothers and Sisters co-star Ron Rifkin officiated the outdoor ceremony while his TV brother, Matthew Rhys, served as his best man.

According to Us Weekly, the bride, who can currently be seen co-starring with Sigourney Weaver in You Again, wore a Monique Lhuillier gown, Dave wore a DKNY suit and they walked down the aisle to All You Need Is Love by the Beatles, a song which was also used to great effect during the wedding in Love Actually (how good is that movie?).

“I feel like the luckiest man ever,” Annable, 31, told the tabloid, which will be running full “behind the scenes” coverage of the wedding this week. “I married my best friend and I could not be happier.”

“I feel so lucky!” Yustman, 25, seconded. “It’s so cool.”

This is a first marriage for both actors. Annable was previously linked to his Brothers and Sisters co-star Emily VanCamp, whom he dated and lived with before hooking up with Odette. Interestingly, Emily decided to leave the show this year. Some people say it was a budgetary issue, VanCamp claimed in interviews it was a creative decision since she felt her character had “run its course,” but we’re gonna go ahead and put green money on it being too weird to play husband and wife with her ex-boyfriend now that he’d moved on and gotten engaged to another woman. Not that we blame her.

Regardless, congratulations to Odette and Dave! Now just don’t work together and everything should work out just fine.

Media executive Oscar Joyner married Alem Gola in a day-long multicultural celebration presided over by Bishop T.D. Jakes with special performances by award winning artists Yolanda Adams, Eric Benet, Tamia, Mike Phillips and Doug E. Fresh.
Media Executive Oscar Joyner Weds Actress Alem Gola

Joyner, President of Reach Media Inc. and Executive Producer of the nationally syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show, and his wife, a TV and film actress, hosted more than 350 guests at the historic Plymouth Congregational Church and a series of receptions and concerts at The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables.

The newlyweds met three years ago in Washington, D.C. during the National Urban League annual conference and have traveled the world together. Last year, Mr. Joyner proposed to his bride in front of the fountains of the historic Monte Carlo Casino in Monaco. As he videotaped her describing the scene, he dropped to one knee and asked her to marry him.

The weekend’s activities, designed and produced by The Design Group of Miami, were rich in culture and showcased elaborate floral displays, including more than 60,000 roses, and a Who’s Who of celebrities, business executives and civic leaders. The bride, Alem Gola of Columbus, Ohio, wore a custom designed gown by Monique Lhuillier. Joyner, son of media personality and philanthropist Tom Joyner, donned a Tom Ford tuxedo.

In addition to Tom Joyner, the special guests at the weekend’s festivities included fitness guru Donna Richardson Joyner, the legendary R&B great Eddie Levert, National Urban League President Marc Morial, NAACP President Benjamin Jealous, Florida Senatorial Candidate Congressman Kendrick Meek (D-FL), NBA basketball great Alonzo Mourning and his wife, Tracy, comedian Kym Whitley and Budweiser senior executive Johnny Furr. Sybil Wilkes and comedian J. Anthony Brown of the Tom Joyner Morning Show also participated in the festivities, along with comedic writers and former Tom Joyner Morning Show personalities Myra J. and Ms. Dupre. Other performers included saxophonist and Hidden Beach Records recording artist Mike Phillips, Coco Brown, DJ Dee Wiz and the popular Ethiopian singers Behaliu Agonafir and Yehune Belay.

The bridesmaids wore traditional Ethiopian fine cotton handmade dresses. The groomsmen wore black tuxedos with red vests, which complemented the red and gold embellishments of the bridesmaids’ dresses.

In a unique multi-ethnic and multi-denominational ceremony, Plymouth Congregation’s Rev. Dr. Thomas R. Niblock introduced internationally renowned Bishop T.D. Jakes of The Potters’ House in Dallas, TX who presided over the ceremony. Ethiopian Pastor Abba Zekarias Gebrehiwot, speaking in his native language of Amharic, led the “Quieba Kudis”, known as the ‘Holy Oil Blessing” and the “Kabba” – a ceremony that involved the placing of red and gold-trimmed robes and crowns on the bride and groom. The bride walked down a 150-foot white carpet runner adorned with white rose petals in a sanctuary where the air permeated with the smell of roses and irises. As she entered the sanctuary, church organist Dr. Robert Heath and saxophonist Mike Phillips played a soulful, but regal organ and saxophone rendition of Mendelssohn’s “The Wedding March”.

As part of the ceremony, Grammy Award and Dove-winning gospel singer Yolanda Adams performed a skin-tingling rendition of “The Prayer. As the newlyweds jumped the broom, an African tradition symbolizing sweeping away the old and bringing in the new, the bride’s brother and cousin celebrated their marriage by playing the kebero, double-headed conical drums played to traditional Ethiopian music.

Following the ceremony, the guests were treated to an Ethiopian High Tea Brunch at the historic Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. At an evening reception, guests dined al fresco on the second floor terrace of the hotel overlooking the lush golf course. Punctuating the tables were four-foot tall wrought iron centerpieces adorned with gold-rimmed hurricane candles and accentuated by red, fuchsia, and yellow rose encrusted spheres. The newlyweds were seated in a 12-foot tall custom-designed gazebo completely covered with Jewel studded roses. R&B singers Eric Benet and Tamia surprised the bride and guests, performing amidst an excited crowd waving sparklers in the night air.

Wedding planner Dionne Anderson and Creative Director Jean Augustin and their team of event designers and culinary specialists produced one of South Florida’s most luxurious destination weddings this season. The newlyweds also received congratulatory messages from President Barack Obama and Congressman Meek.

Two tabloid reports have some young Hollywood stars marching towards being married with children. Kevin Jonas and his new beautiful wife Danielle Deleasa are already hitched and have the marriage part already in place.

Kevin Jonas and Danielle Deleasa

Is she pregnant? An eyewitness spotted the happy couple at a Rite Aid pharmacy in West Hollywood on September 16 — and they were buying a home pregnancy test! A friend has revealed that for Kevin and Danielle, a baby wouldn’t be out of the question, even though they’ve only been married for nine months. “They’re mature for their age, and they want to start a family,” a friend says. “They’d consider it a major blessing if Danielle was pregnant.” Kevin, 22, and Danielle, 23, had a spectacular wedding last December at Oheka Castle on Long Island, N.Y. And, of course, in 2008, the singer famously told Details magazine that he would wait until marriage to have sex.

While everyone would be rooting for a Jonas Brothers baby from Danilelle and Kevin, their representative says hold the support until she actually is with child.

The pregnancy rumor of the baby on the way for the couple is ‘not true,’ the rep said.

Those of you teeny boppers who have had dreams about marrying curly-mop topped Jonas Brother Kevin Jonas, sorry to say it but the eldest JoBro is going through with his marriage. I know, devastating to everyone but Danielle Deleasa, his bride-to-be. This weekend the wedding is set to take place. Read more about the wedding details here. Hint: It involves a castle.

It’s been hush-hush until now, but it has been revealed that Kevin Jonas and Danielle Deleasa will be tying the knot this weekend in a rather lavish affair. Let’s hope he signed a prenuptial agreement! (And Kevin, if you didn’t, there IS still time.) The wedding details are minimal, but from what we do know, it sounds as if it will be one big fat Disney reunion.

Twenty two year olds Kevin and Danielle will get hitched on Saturday evening, December 19th, 2009. And tonight, December 18th, 2009 there will be a rehearsal dinner held at a local New York roller-skating rink. After the fun of a night on skates, Saturday will be the day when the love birds will marry on a private Long Island estate.

Attendants have not yet been revealed, although we do know that both Joe and Nick Jonas will serve as best men for their brother. While there aren’t details on times or exact wedding party attendants, we received word from Radar Online that Demi Lovato is set to attend. Rumor has it that Lovato is smooching up on Joe Jonas.

As for the most important part of the evening for guests, we know that attendees can choose from sea bass, filet mignon, chicken or a veggie tart.

The engagement was announced in July of 2009 and the world was all a buzz. “Our hearts are filled with joy today and we are happy to share with you that our son Kevin has asked Danielle Deleasa for her hand in marriage. Her answer was yes and it is such a blessing that she will be joining our family. Kevin and Danielle have not yet set a date. Family is very dear to us and we hope we have raised Kevin to be a wonderful man and husband. Please join us in our families celebration and in congratulating Kevin and Danielle. Thank you for all of your support.”

Once we receive more Kevin Jonas and Danielle Deleasa wedding details we will keep you updated! All I have to say is Kevin better be serenading his bride-to-be or I’m going to be disappointed!

2011 Wedding Dress Trends

Posted by admin On October - 12 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS Subscribe here

It may seem a little early to start discussing the upcoming trends for 2011, but in the design world, often trends are upwards of 18 months out. We’ve been doing a lot of reading and researching of the topic, and believe we’ll be as close as anyone else in discussing what’s possibly coming.

carolina herrera wedding dress

For one thing, the time has passed as far as inexpensive dresses go. Vera Wang and others scaled back most of their ensembles for 2009 and 2010 because of a weak economy, but they’re not staying there. Feeling that the economy might turn for the better, or at least isn’t still getting worse, wedding gown prices will be going back up, which means the best materials will be returning once more. Not that the materials used before weren’t good, but the best of the best will be back in fashion, lots of tulle and expensive lace, as well as extensive embroidery.

Next, simple fashions will be out of style. A bride can still get an A-line silhouette, but it will be embellished and bunched and styled such that no one will look at her and think “simple”.

Vibrancy will be back, which means dresses with lots of colors and patterns. As a matter of face, dresses like the Carolina Herrera we’re exhibiting here with a trumpet silhouette, which is a modified mermaid only without the waist cinched as tight, highlights the type of styles that wedding dresses will be highlighted with. But there will be dresses of all sorts of colors, and not necessarily muted autumnal colors.

One trend that will continue will be the strapless sleeveless wedding dress, as brides will continue to show off their arms, necks, and shoulders. There will be more flair in bodices and probably less cinching, which means brides will be breathing better than this past year. But elegance will still be the standard, especially for those brides who have the income to afford very nice wedding gowns.

One final trend that’s being predicted is “bunched”, as in bunched tulle, bunched lace, bunched silk… you name it, you’re going to have a lot more of it. Fabric is in, probably because one can do so many different things with more fabric, whereas going minimal usually means a wedding dress that might be classic, but somewhat boring in many eyes.

Fashion Week’s Wedding Shows

Posted by admin On October - 7 - 2010 1 COMMENT Subscribe here

Everyone loves a bride and there were plenty to choose from at Fashion Week’s first weddings show, which is bound to be a big hit with the engaged crowd come its public show on Saturday.

Throw in some cute flower girls and a little boy ringbearer and its ooh-ah time.

2010 fashion week wedding dress

Eight designers came together for this group show pulled together by New Zealand Weddings magazine editor Melissa Gardi and featuring some of the top names in the world of weddings.

It provided armchair shopping with more of a fashion edge than what might be seen at commercial bridal shows. No meringues, plenty of strapless dresses, a bit of bling and dresses that show how wedding has morphed with red carpet dressing in recent years in fitted bodices that flare fluidly to a train and dramatic one-shoulder numbers.

Few dresses were true white, with rich creams featuring strongly and hints of pastel and silver shades.

Vintage-look lace and crystal embellished bodices were a feature throughout. In a nod to fashion trends seen elsewhere at Fashion Week, fringing, ruching and feather trim also made an appearance.

The show started with John Zimmerman’s elegant oyster strapless and embroidered gown. He also showed cream satin brocade, a nude strapless gown with giant fabric petals, and a latticed topped dress with a fringed tiered skirt.

Louise Anderson favoured soft tones from off-white to rich cream. A pearl satin dress was trimmed with black tulle and diamantes were used for decoration, with some dresses over worked. A capped sleeve shrug was an option over a strapless dress.

Anna Schimmel’s fine workmanship showed in ruched bodices, a tulle cape with flounced neckline, and billowing satin skirts. Over-sized flowers with diamante centres made for bodice decoration and a veil was shown in flower sprigged tulle.

A different note was struck with a slim 70s-style with a white batwing sleeve that could do double duty for a black tie event.

One of the strongest segments was menswear from Crane Brothers. Sharp single-breasted suits were shown in charcoal with a lavender shirt, dove grey twinned with teal floral, a mid-grey with a Liberty print and of course, classic black. But best of all was a midnight blue suit with white buttons that looked modern worn with a white shirt and tie.

Kate Dowman’s designs were busy, with ruched and fitted tops flaring into fantasy tulle skirts. A white cotton crochet-style lace was a bit boho.

Newmarket retailer Modes which caters well for bridal wear took its queue from the crowd pleasing approach of Trelise Cooper Kids sending a little lad and a cluster of little ladies down the runway in special day dresses and flower girl frocks.

Vinka’s style was red carpet Hollywood starlet in white. Fluid, flowing, pleated and feather trimmed. Headpieces were a nice option for women not wanting to wear a veil.

Jane Yeh showed ostrich-style feather in a dress with a hint of peach and also played with petalling and black on cream trims in her elegant ensembles.

The pop diva who loves to don outlandish costumes, Lady Gaga, is planning to tie the knot with her boyfriend Luc Carl in a traditional ceremony this winter.

Lady Gaga wedding

Famous for her biggest hit Poker Face and for her attention-grabbing outfits, such as her ‘meat dress’ at last month’s MTV Video Music Awards, Lady Gaga has a more traditional plan for her wedding. The singer has told her friends and family that she wants a lavish fairytale Christmas wedding in the British countryside. No doubt the ceremony will still be extravagant though, and the party even more so!

A source close to the pop star revealed: “Lady Gaga has told everyone she plans to get married. She has said she wants a fairytale wedding in a castle.”

The couple were together back in 2005 prior to Lady Gaga making it big in the pop world. The pair recently rekindled their love and now the wedding bells are ringing.

Gaga is due to kick off the European leg of her Monster Ball tour in Helsinki on 13th October and is intending to finish her work commitments by Christmas.

“We finish the European leg in London just before Christmas and the timing is perfect for the wedding,” the source explained.

It has also been revealed that the couple wish their wedding band rings to be like Elvis Presley’s horseshoe ring.

The press feasts on celebrity weddings, every single detail of the event is analyzed, from the location to the invited guests and to the designer of the bride and the bridal party’s dresses. Designing a Celebrity Wedding Gown

Most celebrity wedding gowns are hand-made to ensure that the dress fits the bride perfectly, it is styled in very original ways which guarantees the bride to have a real one-of-a-kind dress, and certainly no one else can have. More often than not, the dress contains precious gems and is carefully hand stitched by skilled seamstresses. celebrity wedding gowns would often carry the ides of the celebrities themselves, it’s either because they’ve already spotted a nice design but just wants to add a personal touch to it or they know the basic style they want for their dress. But most of the celebrities lay it all on the designer, trusting the designer’s choices because they believe that the designer knows what’s best for them in terms of skin coloring, palettes and body shape.

We regularly see celebrity wedding gowns in magazines or on television, those dresses costs a fortune, ranging from ten thousand US dollars and above. The reason for having such a huge price tag is because every aspect of the dress is handmade, it takes approximately six months to finish, depending on how intricate the design is. The more complex the design gets, the more expensive it becomes. Many of the celebrity wedding gowns include pearls, diamonds, and a lot or other precious stones hand-sewn on the dress, making it even more expensive. The uniqueness and the lavish nature of these dresses are probably the main reason why these gowns are considered to be prized possessions by socialites and celebrities.

Acquiring Celebrity Wedding Gowns

A lot of women idolize the styles of celebrity wedding gowns and would constantly dream about having that lovely dress within the palms of their hands. That dream can be turned into reality; there are a bunch of options to help you grab that celebrity dress. A few wedding apparel retailers sell replicas of celebrity wedding gowns to quench those hopefuls’ thirsts. These replicas aren’t as detailed as the original ones worn by the celebrity, think of it as a spin-off, only a lot cheaper. Dresses like these usually costs $5,000 or less, compared with the originals…that’s definitely cheaper! Don’t worry about the dress, it still somehow looks like the real one because it has a lot of beading and faux gemstones, as opposed to the original ones, they are mass produced which can reduce the quality and the uniqueness but it sure can lower the price!
