The day after pop-rock singer Ashlee Simpson married Fall Out Boy’s bassist Pete Wentz in May 2008, the couple jetted off to Parrot Cay Resort and Spa in Turks & Caicos in the Caribbean. Located conveniently near the main islands, the resort offers the ultimate in privacy and quiet.

Parrot Cay’s 58 rooms and villas are made for luxurious relaxation, with teak furnishings and four-poster king-size beds clad in fine Italian linens. The rooms boast private sun decks with garden or ocean views; the one- to three-bedroom beach houses and villas boast private pools. The larger villas come with personal butlers.

VillaThe resort’s COMO Shambhala Retreat features yoga and Pilates studios and Asian-inspired holistic therapies. Couples can get pampered together in one of the double massage rooms, or heat up the romance in a Japanese bath. The retreat offers gorgeous views of the island’s wetlands; you may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of one of 175 species of birds nestled amid the mangroves.

You can swim in the resort’s 5,500-square-foot infinity pool, or head straight for the clear, temperate turquoise sea—the perfect place to snorkel or to take a deep-sea fishing trip. And don’t miss the 18-hole championship course designed by Karl Litten.

The food at the two on-site restaurants is healthy—and delicious. Try the soya bean, pumpkin and Swiss chard patties with tofu aioli and tabouleh salad, followed by the organic carrot cake with vanilla yogurt sorbet. At this resort, it’s all about life’s natural pleasures .

Like the rest of the world, we’ve been slightly skeptical about the fate of Katy Perry and Russell Brand’s marriage. Although the two seem be head over heels for each other, Brand is a recovering sex (and drug) addict, who acts like he’s lost his mind. And Perry’s star is on the rise, which as we know from other celebrity marriages (uh-hem, Reese and Ryan) can be a major problem for a Hollywood husband’s ego. But we didn’t think the problems would start on the couple’s honeymoon!

Katy Perry and Russell Brand

But according to RadarOnline.com, Perry and Brand’s honeymoon bites—literally. After getting hitched in India, the couple headed to the super exclusive Maldives for what we assumed would be a total newlywed sex fest. After all, Brand is a sex maniac and according to Australian mag, Grazia, the two kept their hands off each other (as in, no hanky panky) for a whole month before the wedding. Seriously! Why you ask? We’re not completely sure. Maybe they’re more old fashioned than we think, and Katy wanted to feel like a virginal bride or something. 9 Wacky Facts About Katy Perry’s Wedding

Unfortunately, the plan backfired, because soon after Katy and Russell arrived in the Maldives, a spider bit Katy, and she developed a nasty rash on her leg. Now, this is Russell Brand we’re talking about, so we’re assuming that a little rash wouldn’t stop him from pouncing on his new wife. But according to Radar, the meds Katy had to take for the rash left her to too drowsy to get busy.

Oh, and apparently, Brand really missed out, because his wife told Now Magazine that she is so skilled in the sack that Russell would rate her at 10 (that’s out of 10, folks). As a side note, apparently, that’s why Katy’s not worried the ex-womanizer will stray.

And if the spider bite isn’t bad enough, now it looks like the couple is being sued for making too much noise at their wedding. According to 411mania, charges have been filed against the newlyweds for breaking local noise laws with their rager of a reception, and if convicted, the couple could go to jail for seven years (no joke)! Talk about seven years of bad luck!

But hey, maybe not having sex on your honeymoon (and getting sued) is like rain on your wedding day—good luck for the marriage but majorily sucky at the time. Let’s just hope that Katy’s rash heals fast, so she can go back to wowing Russell with her sexual prowess. Otherwise, this completely weird, but surprisingly adorable couple might be headed for a Tiger-style sex scandal. ‘Cause we’re gonna assume that Brand is not going to be able to stay celibate for two months (one month is like a world record for him)!

celebrity honeymoon destination in Fiji

The Seychelles

In July 2000, back when Angie was still married to Billy Bob and before anyone had even heard of John Mayer, Brad and Jen celebrated their honeymoon holiday in the Seychelles. Not a couple to do anything by halves, they booked the entire Fregate Island, a plush resort that holds a maximum of 40 guests at a time. With hindsight this may seem an excessive waste of money, but actually the couple came away a lot better than the next pair of celebs to book out this romantic island; Sir Paul McCartney and Heather Mills.

However, honeymoon holidays on these picturesque islands will not necessarily lead to divorce. Liz Hurley and Arun Nayer have recently celebrated their 3rd wedding anniversary after honeymooning on Fregate Island in 2003.

The Maldives

The Maldives have always been a popular place for luxury honeymoons and Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ honeymoon holiday was of no exception. The couple spent a week cruising around the 1192 tiny islands on a friend’s classic yacht and even made time during their stay to eat out at the ultra-exclusive underwater restaurant in the Conrad Hotel on Rangali Island. The couple and their baby daughter, Suri, sadly had to head home early when their honeymoon holiday was blighted by a tropical storm.

The Maldives was also the luxury honeymoon destination of choice for Black-Eyed Peas singer, Fergie, when she married Josh Duhamel in January 2009. The glamorous couple stayed at a luxury hotel, in a secluded suite which is reported to have cost over £10,000 a week. They shunned the hotel’s restaurant in favour of a private butler, who cooked them freshly grilled crayfish from the terrace of the villa.

Phuket, Thailand

David Gest and Liza Minneli chose to take their luxury honeymoon at the romantic resort of Amanpuri in Phuket, Thailand. However this bizarre couple’s turbulent marriage lasted less than a year and a half and is a far cry from what must have been a relaxing and tranquil honeymoon holiday in a resort which literally translates to mean ‘place of peace’.

Barbados

Mick Jagger, Sting, The Beckhams and The Blairs are regularly seen topping up their tans at the exclusive Sandy Lane resort in Barbados, and even the Queen has been known to have paid the luxury hotel a visit. Therefore it was of no surprise that Tiger Woods choose to marry his long-term girlfriend at this destination. All of the guests were picked up from the airport in a Bentley, as is de rigueur at this hotel and the extravagant reception was held on the golf course. Cindy Crawford is another celebrity who has fallen to Barbados’ tropical charms; she married Rande Gerber in a beautiful barefoot ceremony on the island in 1998.

Fiji

Fiji was the luxury honeymoon destination of choice for Britney and K-Fed in 2004 and Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey in 2002. However, the longevity of these marriages can not be blamed on the romantic resort of Turtle Island, where both couples were staying at the time. Turtle Island is universally acknowledged to be the most romantic destination in the world. The private island is home to 14 private beaches, where moonlit picnics and bareback horse rides into the surf are commonplace. The island only lets on 12 couples at a time, meaning there are officially more beaches than couples in this luxury honeymoon destination.

Loved-up newly-weds Michelle Heaton and Hugh Hanley were forced to cool off in the sea when their passion got too hot to handle on honeymoon.

The 31-year-old former Liberty X singer and her Irish personal trainer and advertising sales manager husband were enjoying the last moments of their extended break before flying back to their Dublin home today.

The pair got married in the Bahamas last month and followed it immediately after with a honeymoon taking in Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

Now a ‘celebrity stylist’ at a Dublin beauty parlour as well as a reality TV star – she appeared on Celebrity Big Brother last year – Michelle’s wedding to Hugh was splashed all over the pages of OK! magazine.

Then just last week, she posted up pictures on her Facebook of her getting a tattoo to commemorate her marriage.

The singer proudly showed off the inking, which read ‘from this moment 19.07.10′ to signify the date she married second husband Hugh Hanley.

She was previously married to former boyband star Andy Scott Lee, but they split in June 2008 after less than two years of marriage after she cheated on him.

Despite being best friends with Katie Price, the model also known as Jordan however failed to make Michelle’s wedding on the paradise island.

Robbie Williams and Ayda Field went on a secret “honeymoon”, before they got married. The couple jetted off to the Spanish island of Mallorca to spend a week at the 1,040-a-night pounds Hotel La Residencia in Deia before tying the knot in an intimate ceremony at their Beverly Hills home on August 7.

Robbie Williams and Ayda Field's honeymoon

“Robbie loves Mallorca. He’s been quite a few times and feels at home there,” a source close to the couple said. “His schedule is really packed at the moment, so finding the time to get away for a traditional honeymoon was never going to be easy.”

Despite taking their holiday before their wedding in a bid to retain their privacy, Robbie, 36, was spotted serenading the 31-year-old actress in the hotel bar and they happily dined in the building’s restaurant with other guests. The insider added to Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper, “Their pre-wedding break, or honey-half-moon as pals have dubbed it, was super romantic.”

“Robbie was a real softie. He kept surprising Ayda with flowers, small gifts and notes the entire time. They dined in the hotel’s El Olivo restaurant but Robbie, who doesn’t drink any more, shunned the extensive wine list and stuck to mineral water. On one evening he serenaded Ayda in front of other guests, and got a standing ovation.”

The couple are also expected to take a break in the English seaside town of Blackpool next month, when the “Angels” hitmaker is scheduled to switch on the resort’s famous illuminations.

Well, Hollywood celebs and big shot people are always talked about for various reasons. It can be for a break up or a new couple or the most lavish party. But there is something in which you can truly see celebs competing or atleast trying to prove that they’re worth it!

celebrity honeymoon

Wedding ceremonies are supposed to attract attention and more than that the honeymoon destination is what the paparazzi die to hear. Private ocean rooms, private villas, renting a yacht, or most extravagant buying it, people have done it all!

Till the reports say, Tiger Woods is that one celeb which made it really big on the honeymoon front. Not everybody’s cup of tea though, the star golfer gifted a yacht to his wife Elin. The extended honeymoon had been for more than a month reportedly and has made it to the most expensive honeymoon by a celeb, rounding till about $57 million.

There are many others who had been to the most expensive honeymoon destinations and have made it to the news. However, it has been noted that even the common couple now go for a lot of expenditure as far as honeymoon and privacy with the loved one is considered.

Celebrities have been famous and in news for many reasons. Leaving their stardom aside, they also create news when they officially state that they are about to marry the love of their life. And obviously they are stars so they spend a galaxy of money on their weddings and honeymoon.

Tiger Woods Honeymoon Cost

There are many celebs that top the list on being the top rated couple to have a lavish honeymoon overseas. Do you have the least idea of what Tiger Woods spent on his honeymoon with wife Elin Nordegren? Well, firstly he gifted her yacht named ‘The Privacy’ and later the extended long honeymoon did cost him somewhere close to $57 million. This was just an extravagant amount compared to the grand scale on which his wedding took place, when he rented 110 rooms and three golf courses for a period of 3 days which cost him around $1.5 – $2 million.

This, however, was a celebrity golfer, but it is believed that all the Americans spend a whole lot of what they can afford on their honeymoon. If taken an average then we can say that $3,700 is the minimum amount spent.

It was the moment for Victoria, David proposed her on one knee and she definitely couldn’t say no. So here we have the story of another couple; David and Victoria Beckham. They married on 4th July, 1999 in the Gothic Luttrellstown castle, Ireland in presence of just 29 close friends, family and relatives.

Beckham Wedding and Honeymoon

When the priest proclaimed them as man and wife, a single dove was let free symbolizing their love. The most touching thing was that after the exchanging vows they did shed tears of happiness. This was the symbol that their happiness knew no bounds on their weeding day.

The reception had a good 230 guests and it took place on a lavish scale, off course. They didn’t accept any gifts instead preferred to get shopping vouchers. Also, the guests were asked to dress in black or white.

Their honeymoon details and spots were kept under tight wraps and weren’t disclosed for the hardest time to the paparazzi. However, whatever they could manage to get was that the couple slipped off to a villa somewhere in the south of France for their honeymoon. Accompanying them was no one but their infant son, Brooklyn.

Celebrity Wedding

Weddings are a wonderful occasion and on average cost between $20,000 and $40,000. Celebrity weddings, however, are quite another affair. It is one thing to have a selection of guests you want to have come to your special day and quite another to have the world watching.

Celebrity weddings are the talk of the nation. From the press sealed to the open media, everyone wants to know what they’re wearing, how many guests they have, what they are serving their A-Listed guest list and more… For many celebrity weddings, that $20,000 to $40,000 price range barely covers their deposit on the whole event. Weddings have well exceeded hundreds of thousands and have been recorded into the millions.

While some like to keep it a private affair, there is much interest by the public. Some of the most elaborate weddings consisted of price tags exceeding millions of dollars worth of the formal affair.

Some of the most elaborate weddings recorded are:
Anyone who is old enough to recall the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana, recalls the incredible events as the unfolded on our television screens. Stunning and memorable from start to finish. From the incredible music to the processional, it was all amazing.

Some of the price tags recorded for Wedding Gowns:
• Katie Holmes’ “Armani” wedding gown cost $50,000.

• Liza Minelli’s wedding gown cost $45,000, plus she wore a reception gown which cost her $14,000

• Mariah Carey’s “Vera Wang” gown cost $25,000

Some price tags for guests, food, accommodations etc. recorded were:
• Dario Franchiti & Ashley Judd approximately $205,000

• Brad Pitt and Jennifer Anniston’s Lobster and Champaigne cost approximately $300,000

• Madonna & Guy Ritchie’s wedding frills cost over $800,000

Whether these marriages last or don’t last, we have inquiring minds. We want to know what our favorite celebrities are wearing, eating, or where they are having their honeymoon. Partly it’s the interest of people we admire and partly because many of us wonder what it would be like to be able to have the most perfect wedding ever.

From the gown to the honeymoon there is little expense reserved. These weddings are a global spectacle, whether they want them to be or not. It is a courtesy on the behalf of the public to respect their wishes, yet it is our undying devotion to our favorite stars to know what they do when they are not on the screen. Fantasy or reality, celebrity weddings make us all fascinated and dazzled. A celebrity wedding virtually plays out our own wedding fantasies and desires. Though money doesn’t buy happiness, it does make for a spectacular affair, one that all of us fashion to partake of, whenever possible.
