Two of Hollywood’s most gorgeous inhabitants went to the equally gorgeous Big Island of Hawaii for their honeymoon. They stopped at the Hotel Four Seasons Resort Hualalai. HolidayCheckers who have also stopped there have described the hotel as having ‘super service,’ and have given it a 100% recommendation rate. They have been swimming with dolphins in the waters around Big Island.

This Spanish couple enjoyed a luxurious wedding, and spent their honeymoon in the Bahamas. One of the most popular hotels in the Bahamas on HolidayCheck is the Hotel Stella Maris Resort on Long Island. It is described as, ‘absolutely beautiful and wonderful’ by former guests, and would be the perfect resort for celebrating a honeymoon.

Emily Blunt and John Krasinski
The Young Victoria actress got married in style in Villa D’Este at George Clooney’s villa, on the banks of Lake Como in Italy. Lake Como has been home to many more stars, such as Versace und Sylvester Stallone, and is highly recommended by HolidayCheck users. The promenade and old town of Como have been highly rated by travellers, with the great views and ice cream parlours topping the lists. The newlyweds then went back to Los Angeles and stopped in West Hollywood for a quick getaway.

Seeing the view of the city from the top of John Hancock tower at sunset would surely make any honeymoon magical.

Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr
The Pirates of the Caribbean star and the Victoria’s Secret model spent their honeymoon island-hopping between Anguilla, Mustique, and St Lucia. They stayed at the Hotel Viceroy Anguilla for £4,500 a night, where they enjoyed 35 acres of lush tropical gardens, as well as a private pool for just the two of them and spas. Just as every couple is different, each couple has different ideas of what makes up their list of top honeymoon destinations. The honeymoon is a tradition that can lead to some beautiful memories for a newly married couple, but before those memories can be made, you of course must decide where to go. If you find yourself lost for ideas for where to go on your honeymoon, the best idea for brainstorming is to look at the top honeymoon destinations for other couples.

honeymoon destination in Aruba

Aruba

While there are plenty of Caribbean destinations for your honeymoon, Aruba is one of the top honeymoon destinations due to its unique climate. Despite its location, the climate of Aruba is relatively arid, and it exists outside the path that most hurricanes take when they’re in season. Because of this, travelers are almost guaranteed that they’ll have a great honeymoon without a chance of getting rained out. With such a guarantee, it’s no wonder that Aruba is one of the world’s top honeymoon destinations.

Italy

For those who want to celebrate their honeymoon in Europe, many of the top honeymoon destinations are in Italy, and for good reason. With a rich history that goes back thousands of years, cities like Rome still have ancient architecture in place, providing sightseers with plenty to view. Other cities, such as Venice, provide beautiful, romantic canal rides that are perfect to celebrate a honeymoon. And of course, it goes without saying that the wine and food you’ll get in Italy will be wonderful, making this a great place for your honeymoon!

Florida

If you’re looking for top honeymoon destinations that are closer to home, consider Florida for your honeymoon. While it’s not quite as tropical as Hawaii, its location on the mainland makes it easy to get to, and there are still plenty of beaches and attractions to go to. Whether you go for relaxation in the Florida Keys or Cocoa Beach, there are plenty of places where you can get to the ocean. And if you don’t mind being around families, there’s always the theme parks of Orlando for the young at heart.

So, if you want a great vacation without having to get a passport, look no further than sunny Florida. But no matter where you decide to go, whether in the country or not, whether you go for sun and sand or for history and culture, these three top honeymoon destinations are great places to look at when you start your search for where you and your spouse want to go.

celebrity honeymoon destination in Fiji

The Seychelles

In July 2000, back when Angie was still married to Billy Bob and before anyone had even heard of John Mayer, Brad and Jen celebrated their honeymoon holiday in the Seychelles. Not a couple to do anything by halves, they booked the entire Fregate Island, a plush resort that holds a maximum of 40 guests at a time. With hindsight this may seem an excessive waste of money, but actually the couple came away a lot better than the next pair of celebs to book out this romantic island; Sir Paul McCartney and Heather Mills.

However, honeymoon holidays on these picturesque islands will not necessarily lead to divorce. Liz Hurley and Arun Nayer have recently celebrated their 3rd wedding anniversary after honeymooning on Fregate Island in 2003.

The Maldives

The Maldives have always been a popular place for luxury honeymoons and Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ honeymoon holiday was of no exception. The couple spent a week cruising around the 1192 tiny islands on a friend’s classic yacht and even made time during their stay to eat out at the ultra-exclusive underwater restaurant in the Conrad Hotel on Rangali Island. The couple and their baby daughter, Suri, sadly had to head home early when their honeymoon holiday was blighted by a tropical storm.

The Maldives was also the luxury honeymoon destination of choice for Black-Eyed Peas singer, Fergie, when she married Josh Duhamel in January 2009. The glamorous couple stayed at a luxury hotel, in a secluded suite which is reported to have cost over £10,000 a week. They shunned the hotel’s restaurant in favour of a private butler, who cooked them freshly grilled crayfish from the terrace of the villa.

Phuket, Thailand

David Gest and Liza Minneli chose to take their luxury honeymoon at the romantic resort of Amanpuri in Phuket, Thailand. However this bizarre couple’s turbulent marriage lasted less than a year and a half and is a far cry from what must have been a relaxing and tranquil honeymoon holiday in a resort which literally translates to mean ‘place of peace’.

Barbados

Mick Jagger, Sting, The Beckhams and The Blairs are regularly seen topping up their tans at the exclusive Sandy Lane resort in Barbados, and even the Queen has been known to have paid the luxury hotel a visit. Therefore it was of no surprise that Tiger Woods choose to marry his long-term girlfriend at this destination. All of the guests were picked up from the airport in a Bentley, as is de rigueur at this hotel and the extravagant reception was held on the golf course. Cindy Crawford is another celebrity who has fallen to Barbados’ tropical charms; she married Rande Gerber in a beautiful barefoot ceremony on the island in 1998.

Fiji

Fiji was the luxury honeymoon destination of choice for Britney and K-Fed in 2004 and Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey in 2002. However, the longevity of these marriages can not be blamed on the romantic resort of Turtle Island, where both couples were staying at the time. Turtle Island is universally acknowledged to be the most romantic destination in the world. The private island is home to 14 private beaches, where moonlit picnics and bareback horse rides into the surf are commonplace. The island only lets on 12 couples at a time, meaning there are officially more beaches than couples in this luxury honeymoon destination.
