Having A Stylish Reception

With most of the focus drawn to the bridal dresses you might begin to get the impression that an elegant dress is all there is to having a beautiful wedding. This is, of course, not true. While it is critical that the bride be draped in the utmost elegance, it is also important that the wedding reception environment also reflect the grace and beauty of the ceremony.

stylish wedding reception

One of the best ways to achieve this wedding aura is to lavish the guest tables with decoration. With the right kinds of table decoration ideas for your reception you will have a beautiful and celebratory environment for your family and friends.

With so much money being put into the wedding itself, you may be thinking that in order for the tables to be decorated beautifully it will take a lot of difficult and pricy work to complete the arrangement. Fortunately, this is not the case. There are several easy and inexpensive ways to make a reception warm and attractive without spending too much of your time and money.

Perhaps the easiest way to add a certain mood to your celebration is choosing the right kinds of cloths and covers for your tables. White is generally the color that is mostly chosen at wedding time but they can also be the most common-looking. Choosing an interesting cloth for your reception tables can help to add a little bit of fun and flair to the after party.

Some of the less expensive but highly lovely table cover embellishments are: different types of flower petals sprinkled across the table tops, tiny pieces of matching confetti or glitter to add a little sparkle, beads made out of glass or rocks strung around the circumference, sea shells, leaves or anything that you want to add. Your imagination is really the only limit in your wedding reception.

Another easy way to add some taste to your reception is the use of lighting. How your reception is lit will greatly enhance the mood of the celebration and can even give a little extra warmth to the already chosen décor of the room. The styles of lighting are available in as many numerous styles as there are guests for your wedding.

A candle centerpiece can add a rustic but beautiful calming feel to a reception table. Twinkle lights are another elegant option for your celebration. These little lights are actually strung across and along the sides of each table and can be embellished with ribbon fabric or lace for a little added style.

The wedding between pop star Beyonce Knowles and rap star Jay-Z took place in 2008 in New York. The wedding ceremony was noted primarily for being a low-key affair that was mostly kept private from the media.

Very little is known about the actual wedding ceremony. This comes from how the couple was out for a period of time to get a marriage license in Scarsdale, New York, just a few days before the ceremony. Data on the site of the ceremony is not fully known.

Wedding Ceremony of Beyonce and Jay-Z

However, many other details that relate to the wedding have popped up. One notable part of the ceremony comes from the celebration and reception that took place after the wedding. This was an event that took place at Jay-Z’s apartment.

What happened here was that a local florist was called on to get a massive amount of flowers into Jay-Z’s apartment. It is estimated that at least fifty thousand white orchid blooms were brought out to the apartment. It was reported that they were ordered from Thailand and that the florist stated that they got an order that was related to a large scale party. The florist was not aware of how the flowers were going to be gathered for a wedding ceremony.

A series of different decorations, including candelabras, were also delivered off to the apartment. These are materials that were made with silver accents that were very appealing.

Full entertainment was available at the reception. DJ Cassidy spun tunes at the reception. He has been a friend of Jay-Z’s for years.

A full guest list has been found as well. Matthew and Tina Knowles, the parents of Beyonce, were present at the reception. Gwyneth Paltrow, who is a friend of the two people, also came to the event. The two other members of Beyonce’s former band, Destiny’s Child, also came to the event.

Very few pictures were available from the entire ceremony. The only real photos that were available were ones that featured paparazzi shots of the celebrities as they were heading out to the apartment. No other photos were available for the wedding ceremony. This was done as a means of making sure that the entire event was private.

The wedding ceremony of Beyonce and Jay-Z was one that was very private and sealed off to most people. However, it is noted that it involved a number of unique things and a good guest list. This was truly something that was going to be private and was successfully private.

Comedian David Walliams has married Dutch model Lara Stone at Claridge’s hotel in London.

The 38-year-old comedian and the Vogue cover girl, who is 12 years his junior, became engaged in January. They had been dating for about a year.

David Walliams and Lara Stone wedding

When two people get married their photo albums are usually filled with lovely pictures; the bride posing, the best man and ushers, guests, family and sometimes the odd cheeky one of someone sticking their tongue out. But when you’re a celeb getting married, your photo album gets a little more interesting… to say the least!

Saw the much talked about couple, Lara Stone and David Walliams, tying the knot at the gorgeous London hotel – Claridges. After the ceremony it was off to Shoreditch House, the covetable members club, to party into the wee hours. We all know by now that if you are a celebrity getting married, then you invite your celebrity friends. And this guest list was a long one!

Our very own Fearne Cotton provided the first DJ set for the couple. Other guests included Spice Girl Geri Halliwell, Walliams’ on and off screen friend Matt Lucas, funny man Russell Brand, Vernon Kay and Tess Daly (what a gorgeous couple!), another of ours – Denise Van Outen (looking super hot, especially considering she’s only just had a baby) with husband Lee and a rather dashing looking Alan Carr.

Hundreds of white roses and lots of delicious looking cupcakes arrived at Claridges hours before the guests arrived and Lara’s engagement ring is reported to be in the region of £100,000 and from Tiffany! We would have LOVED an invite, if only for the cupcakes!

The couple reportedly danced to Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson’s version of “Beauty and the Beast” for their first dance, reports Marie Claire.co.uk. “It sounds cheesy but it was actually a genuinely touching moment,” one onlooker told Britain’s Sun. The wedding, which cost an estimated 80,000 pounds also included an incredible synchronized swimming display in a rooftop pool!

what the bride wore. Lara donned a corseted gown in ivory washed silk satin, with lace and gold chain trimmed straps, all custom made for her by Ricardo Tisci for Givenchy Couture. Talk about a one-of-a-kind gown. As the happy couple left the reception at Claridge’s in London, however, the bride slipped into this glittering gold frock.

We think the wedding dress is so gorgeous — definitely fit for an A-list model, and we love the idea of changing into something short and sweet for your grand exit at the end of the night. What do you think, are you going to change into another fun frock at the end of the night? Take our poll and share your comments below!

An interesting word that people will find when it comes to news reports on celebrity weddings is the word “elope.” This refers to how a couple quickly ran off somewhere to get married. This is something that is quickly become common among celebrity weddings. These secret weddings are notable for many reasons.

celebrity-secret-wedding

A secret wedding is a wedding that is going to be one that will not be promoted. It is something that is going to be known by only a handful of people. These include the two celebrities who are getting married, friends that are being trusted with the information and will be attending the wedding and the facility that is going to be handling the private wedding.

The main reason as to why a secret wedding is something that can be used by many celebrities comes from how it is a wedding that will not be publicized by any media outlets. A good example of this comes from how in 1985 the marriage between Madonna and Sean Penn was covered by a massive number of media outlets that were hovering all over the entire wedding site. This is something that put a good damper on the process.

In many cases it can be a real challenge for any celebrity couple to be able to get a good wedding going due to the attention that is going to be imposed onto them by the media. With a secret wedding this concern can be properly resolved for one’s needs.

In addition to this the wedding will be something that is going to be easier for the couple to handle. There will be no need to work on handling any invitations that will have to be sent out to people. This is great in that by not doing this the wedding will be one that can actually remain a secret.

A variety of celebrities have gone ahead with this type of wedding thanks to the many features of secret weddings. For example, in 2005 Renee Zellweger and Kenny Chesney both got married in a secret ceremony at the U.S. Virgin Islands. Although a few photos were taken this was after the announcement that the couple made regarding their marriage.

The popularity of secret weddings is something that is valuable for celebrities these days. These are weddings that will work in that celebrities can be married in a proper ceremony without the media pressure.

The next party in queue is the third time marriage ceremony of Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon who get married every year. They celebrate each wedding anniversary by tying the knot every year and re-strengthening their vows. Their actual wedding in 2008 was a fiesta in the Bahamas and the highlight was the $2.5 million wedding ring the groom presented the bride. Carey gets a new ring every year on their anniversary from Cannon.

Last December saw the winter wedding of Kevin Jonas and Danielle Deleasa that happened at the Oheka Castle in the presence of four hundred guests. The aisle was decorated with shimmering snow flakes and Swarovski crystals and the bride looked just breath taking in a strap less Chantilly lace Vera Wang gown. The first dance was for Keith Urban’s ‘Only you can love me this way’ which was followed by cutting of the splendid seven tiered wedding cake with Swarovski crystals.

The ‘Bachelor’ and ‘Dancing with the Stars’ contestant Melissa Rycroft married Tye Strickland before two hundred esteemed guests in Isla Mujeres, Mexico. Melissa walked down the aisle bare foot wearing a stunning gown designed by Alfred Angelo. ‘Monday Night Football’ which was the theme song was played soon after the traditional vows were exchanged. Celebrity weddings, proms and parties become trend setters for the manner in which they are organized and for the clothes and fashion ideas they launch.

This year’s bride has more selection in both traditional and modern dresses, the groom is also stepping up to the alter with a new look of splashing color added to his tuxedo through his vest, bringing the entire wedding party into focus.

While many people balk at the expenses that can occur through weddings the truth is that celebrity weddings are even more expensive. This comes from how so many things that can occur at a celebrity wedding can be incredibly exorbitant and luxurious. Here is a breakdown of some of the most expensive celebrity weddings in the past.

celebrity wedding cost

One of the most expensive weddings of all time can in 2002 in the wedding between Liza Minelli and David Gest. This wedding cost about three and a half million dollars to pull off. Much of this came from things like the large orchestra that played at the reception and the massive expenses on flowers. In fact it cost forty thousand dollars for the six tier wedding cake to be made for the event. It also cost $150,000 for the five hundred staff members who worked the wedding to be paid. Ironically this marriage ended later in the year.

Another expensive wedding was the three million dollar wedding between Paul McCartney and Heather Mills. In 2002 a large castle was rented out for forty thousand dollars. A massive yacht was rented out at a cost of $19,000 per night and about $150,000 was spent on fireworks for the event. In addition to this a massive reception with a vegetarian catering service and a large series of dancers added to the cost of the wedding.

One wedding that cost two million dollars was the 2006 wedding between Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. The TomKat wedding had a massive wine expense bill in that nearly three hundred bottles of wine were consumed during the event. The bottles cost a grand total of $180,000. The clothing for the wedding party was made by Armani and cost more than $150,000 to make.

For one and a half million dollars a wedding ceremony was held for Madonna and Guy Ritchie in 2000. Madonna’s gown alone cost $80,000. Another $800,000 was spent on food with a majority of it going towards the champagne. The rental of an entire castle in Scotland along with the hiring of dozens of security officers added to the cost.

Many smaller things in celebrity weddings can cost a lot as well. For example, in 1999 the wedding rings for the marriage between David Beckham and Victoria Adams were $200,000 in value. The gown that Adams wore during that ceremony was expensive too at $100,000.

Accessories can also be expensive. For example, during her wedding to Michael Douglas in 2005 Catherine Zeta-Jones wore a diamond tiara. This accessory cost three hundred thousand dollars to get.

Even same sex ceremonies have proven to be expensive. A 2005 civil union between Elton John and David Furnish featured diamond wedding bands that were $240,000 in value.

Overall it can be seen that celebrity weddings can be incredibly expensive. These all go to show that famous people are rich and that they can afford all of these unbelievable expenses. Too bad ordinary people aren’t able to do such a thing that easily.

Whilst the cost of a wedding can be extremely intimidating for most couples, and it is easy for celebrity wedding envy to set in, it is worth noting that the amount of money you put in to the big day is no indicator at all of how much you will get out of your marriage. Here are some celebrity couples who are probably regretting the outlay for their nuptials.

celebrity wedding

Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren – estimated cost $1.5 million

When Tiger married Swedish model Elin in Barbados, they hired an entire resort at a cost of $200,000 to ensure their privacy. The couple celebrated with a $50,000 firework display.

Madonna and Guy Ritchie – estimated cost $1.5 million

$70,000 was spent on bodyguards alone for this star studded ceremony. Madonna wore an $80,000 Stella McCartney gown for their wedding in a sprawling Scottish castle, along with an antique tiara once worn by Princess Grace of Monaco. They spent $200,000 on fireworks (that’s four times as much as Tiger), and yet for some reason daughter Lourdes led the wedding procession in bare feet.

Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston – estimated cost $1 million

As the golden couple of Hollywood, this was set to be the wedding of the year, although Brad and Jen were keen to keep it intimate and private and are rumored to have required all staff involved with the event sign a confidentiality agreement. Sadly the wedding, like the subsequent marriage, did not go to plan for the couple, with the cake melting in the heat and the caterers running out of food. They must have underestimated how much Hollywood A-listers eat.

Liza Minelli and David Gest – estimated cost $3.5 million

Estimated to be the most expensive celebrity wedding ever held, this had a wedding party that included Michael Jackson and Elizabeth Taylor, and Stevie Wonder, Tony Bennett and Natalie Cole as entertainment (singing with a 60 piece orchestra). The cake alone cost $40,000 and stood six foot tall.

Paul McCartney and Heather Mills – estimated cost $3 million

Paul and Heather married in Ireland in 2002. She wore a dress which the lace for alone cost $10,000, and the guests were treated to an Indian themed reception and a vegetarian feast. As Heather walked down the aisle, a song Paul had penned especially for her on the big day (somewhat unimaginatively titled “Heather”) was played.

If anything, the fact that these marriages all failed after some of the most elaborate weddings in modern history goes to show that it is the couple involved and their love for each other that matters, rather than having a really big firework display.
