What does it take to achieve a beautiful wedding? Is it the dress, the jewelry or just the feeling that you are getting married? The very purchase of an elegant wedding dress is not all. You need to know that other than draping the bride in utmost elegance, one should also keep in mind that the environment of the reception should convey the beauty and grace of the ceremony.

unique wedding reception

This is your wedding aura and it can be achieved by guest tables lavishly decorated and with the right decoration ideas, you can make your reception unique by creating opportunity for your friends and family members.

Of course, everyone is putting the money in the wedding, and you may wonder that the tables can be beautifully decorated with a lot of tough tasks and pricey expenses. However, contrary to our general notion, this is not true. There are a lot of convenient and cost effective measures that you can take to make your wedding reception attractive and warm without having to lavish too much of money or time to the cause.

It is perhaps the best way for enhancing your celebration with a set mood by choosing what covers and cloths will match the color and positioning of the tables. The popular color at weddings is usually white and at the same time, these can be common looking as well. This is the reason why you need to choose the right cover or cloth for the reception table to help you add that flair and fun at the after wedding party.

There are also some table cover embellishments which are cost effective, but wonderful so to speak. Some of the patterns include: flower petals spread over the table top, small pieces of complimenting glitter or confetti to bring a sparkle, beads of rocks or glass hung near the circumference, leaves, sea shells or something of your choice. Literally speaking, your imagination is the margin where you need to stop.

You may add a sparkle of taste to the wedding reception by using light effects. The way in which your reception is illumined is something that will augment the feel of the celebrations. It also gives that little amount of added warmth to the pre chosen room décor. There are various styles which are available for lighting and your choice is definitely going to impress your guests.

Go for a candle centerpiece for that rustic charm or the twinkling lights which can be adorned with lace or ribbons.

Wedding Hair Styles 2010

There is no right or wrong to hairstyles this year but there is a rule of thumb to follow…and that is selecting a hairstyle that is complimentary to your gown and to your face.

This year’s hairstyles include both short and long hair. There is plenty of time before the wedding to play around with your hair a bit so start in advance to have the perfect style for the big day.

This year the colors are bright and bold. There is pure elegance in weddings of 2010. With the many additions of colors in the bride dresses, the bride has even more selection of style with her hair. This gives the bride a chance to play around with the color of her hair a bit. For instance if you choose a dress that is accented with teal then a shade of copper for your hair may be absolutely stunning.

Style is important as well. Should you wear your hair up or down, add flowers or beautiful hairpieces, or should you have a veil? If you are wearing a veil then you will want your hair style to work with your veil. The best advice here is to take your veil to your hairstylist a few months before the wedding and work with them on different ideas.

To ensure that you have the best style for you, take several photographs of styels that you like and take them to your stylist. Bring a friend or ask the stylist to take a picture of you so that you can “capture” what you look like in the style.

Another trend for 2010 is long hair jewelry, which looks absolutely beautiful. Again, take the jewelry to your hairstylist and have them play around with it with different styles.

Another consideration of the big day, is your attendants. By all means, do not forget to discuss hairstyles with them. It is very important that the attendants are properly accentuated as well, and that they look as wonderful as they possibly can. If you have an attendant in the wedding party that is known for “quick and natural” doos, then you just might want to take her with you to your stylist. This is your big day, and everything needs to be perfect, including the wedding party. Good luck and remember to experiment. Normally, there are months prior to the wedding, which leaves plenty of time to find the best hairstyle for you.

Whilst the cost of a wedding can be extremely intimidating for most couples, and it is easy for celebrity wedding envy to set in, it is worth noting that the amount of money you put in to the big day is no indicator at all of how much you will get out of your marriage. Here are some celebrity couples who are probably regretting the outlay for their nuptials.

celebrity wedding

Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren – estimated cost $1.5 million

When Tiger married Swedish model Elin in Barbados, they hired an entire resort at a cost of $200,000 to ensure their privacy. The couple celebrated with a $50,000 firework display.

Madonna and Guy Ritchie – estimated cost $1.5 million

$70,000 was spent on bodyguards alone for this star studded ceremony. Madonna wore an $80,000 Stella McCartney gown for their wedding in a sprawling Scottish castle, along with an antique tiara once worn by Princess Grace of Monaco. They spent $200,000 on fireworks (that’s four times as much as Tiger), and yet for some reason daughter Lourdes led the wedding procession in bare feet.

Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston – estimated cost $1 million

As the golden couple of Hollywood, this was set to be the wedding of the year, although Brad and Jen were keen to keep it intimate and private and are rumored to have required all staff involved with the event sign a confidentiality agreement. Sadly the wedding, like the subsequent marriage, did not go to plan for the couple, with the cake melting in the heat and the caterers running out of food. They must have underestimated how much Hollywood A-listers eat.

Liza Minelli and David Gest – estimated cost $3.5 million

Estimated to be the most expensive celebrity wedding ever held, this had a wedding party that included Michael Jackson and Elizabeth Taylor, and Stevie Wonder, Tony Bennett and Natalie Cole as entertainment (singing with a 60 piece orchestra). The cake alone cost $40,000 and stood six foot tall.

Paul McCartney and Heather Mills – estimated cost $3 million

Paul and Heather married in Ireland in 2002. She wore a dress which the lace for alone cost $10,000, and the guests were treated to an Indian themed reception and a vegetarian feast. As Heather walked down the aisle, a song Paul had penned especially for her on the big day (somewhat unimaginatively titled “Heather”) was played.

If anything, the fact that these marriages all failed after some of the most elaborate weddings in modern history goes to show that it is the couple involved and their love for each other that matters, rather than having a really big firework display.
